Class Trip NY '09

This year after school ended we went on a class trip to New York. We had to fly for a lot of hours but we were all very excited about it. We got there late in the afternoon so the fist day we didn't do much apart from being in the YMCA Hotel and checking the surroundings. The stay at the YMCA wasn't bad, we had enough space in our rooms and it had swimming pool. The only thing that I didn't like of it was the bathrooms that were common and were always dirty. During the week we stayed in New York we did a lot of group activities such as visiting museums and we also had a lot of free time so that we could go shopping. one of the days we went to see the Statue of Liberty and we had a great time taking each other pictures, we also went to the Guggenheim Museun and the Moma. From my point of view I liked much more the Moma than the Guggenheim, I expected it with more paintings and interesting things. To get from one place to another, instead of going by metro, except in some ocasions we went walking. It was good because we could see the different parts of the city and what it was like, not only the places were the tourists went. The thing that most impressed me of all New York was Central Park, it was huege. I found it amazing that in the middle of a city like New York that has a lot of traffic and is a very busy city a place like that one were people could relax and do what they wanted. Another day we went to the Empire State Building, it wasn't bad, but I thought it was going to be a bit more fun. The day was a little cloudy but we got the chance to see everything. This trip to New York was a great experience and I recomend everyone to go and visit the city alone or with a group of friends.
